HSV ROCKED WITH THE ROCK THIS TOWN ORCHESTRA

on March 14th & 15th, 2024!

The VCA sponsored two Rock Porch concerts at Grove Park this summer.  The season began as we presented The Intruders on May 25th.  A crowd nearly 700 strong enjoyed the free concert.

On October 5th, the season ended as we featured HSV favorite Eastbound & Down with Jackie B!

Special thanks to Susan McCarty for sharing her photographs!

Our Valentine's concerts featured two legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame artists, The Platters & The Drifters. Audiences reminisced as they heard so many classic and timeless hits that spanned the decades.   Congratulations to Gwen and Jim Rochester (69 years together) and Ken & Marlene Binkley (68 years together.)  They were the winners of our "longest together" contest and each received a $40 gift card compliments of Sunset Grill.  Winners of the "shortest together" contest were Gayle Steinmeyer and Eugene LaBove, who just celebrated their one month wedding anniversary, and Beth and Kendall Gilmer, who have been married for 3 months!

Special thanks to Susan McCarty for sharing her photographs from The Platters & The Drifters Concerts.

In October we were treated to Doug Brewin and Larry Turner as  they paid tribute to Alan Jackson and George Strait in their Legends of Concert performance,  with their stellar band of musicians and vocalists. VCA members remembered their popular concert honoring Brooks and Dunn several years ago, and we were glad to bring them back once again!

The Platters thrilled with their vocals, and received a lengthy standing ovation for their stirring rendition of  How Great Thou Art.

Newlyweds Gayle Steinmeyer & Eugene LaBove (married 1 month!)

Creedence Revived, billed as The World Premier CCR Tribute Band lived up to their reputation!  Not only were their outstanding vocals spot on, but Rich Perez, JD King, Graham Czach and Tony Montana proved to be amazing musicians who wowed the crowd.
